Jacob has over a decade's experience representing clients in market-leading transactions, covering a wide range of specialties, such as corporate mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas, energy, mining, project finance, infrastructure, banking, telecommunications, healthcare, as well as commercial and consumer litigation.
Recent interventions
Mergers & Acquisitions
Worked as lead partner and advisor to the sellers (Diageo Group) in the largest M&A transaction in Cameroon in the last two decades, namely the acquisition of Guinness Cameroon (GCSA, Diageo Group) by Société Anonyme des Boissons du Cameroun (SABC, Castel Group) via Brasseries et Glacières Internationales (BGI).
Project financing
Assisted lenders including Citibank, N.A. (London branch), CITIBANK Gabon, Société Générale Cameroun (SG Cameroun), Standard Chartered Bank Cameroun (SCB Cameroun), Banque Internationale du Cameroun de l'Épargne et le Crédit (BICEC), SCB Cameroun (Attijariwafa Bank Group), Ecobank and BGFI Bank in the structuring and extension of a medium-term syndicated loan (USD 200 million) to Cameroon's largest utility (ENEO).
Energy
Acted as advisor to several DFIs and local lenders in connection with the financing of the construction, development and operation of the USD 1.4 billion Nachtigal hydroelectric project, for the design, construction and operation of a 420 MW hydroelectric dam in Cameroon.
